Kevin Feige announced major updates for the Marvel Cinematic Universe during Walt Disney’s 2020 Investor Day presentation
We all know because of COVID-19 Marvel had to push back 2020 big screen movies Black Widow and Eternals as well as Disney+ TVs The Falcon & the Winter Soldier and WandaVision.
Falcon & the Winter Soldier
Marvel wanted it’s Disney+ big launch project to be the tough, gritty Captain American 2: Winter Solder spin-off The Falcon & the Winter Soldier. This would work well with its mostly male super-hero loving fan-base. It would then be followed up with the trippy looking, more romantic sounding WandaVision. Unfortunately, the more outdoor action-scene oriented The Falcon & the Winter Soldier didn’t fare well during the pandemic.
WandaVision
While I think WandaVision will be great; the light-hearted laugh-track sit-com based first trailer may have given the wrong impression. I like the second trailer hints at a darker story.
No sign of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange but he is rumored to cameo.
Sony/Marvels’s Spider-Man 3
Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios president and chief creative officer confirmed Sony/Marvels’s Spider-Man 3 will also have Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange helping create a live-action Spider-Man Multiverse/ Spider-Verse.
As I so awesomely reported before (thank you) Alfred Molina and Jamie Foxx are back as Doctor Octopus and Electro. Their inclusion make it obvious that Sony is attempting to start up its long-promised Sinister Six spin-off. They will join Mysterio, Scorpion and Michael Keaton’s Vulture. Bringing back Molina and Foxx in Spider-Man 3 will help jump-start the story so they don’t need to spend much time introducing the characters in this already crowded film.
Rumors now say Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Kirsten Dunst are supposed to appear.
But the latest rumor is Charlie Cox may return as Daredevil. Last month two years had passed since Netflix canceled Daredevil and the rights have returned to Marvel so it’s possible. If Daredevil returns what about Spider-Man’s big baddy Kingpin played by Vincent D’Onofrio?
D’Onofrio recently posted a tweet encouraging fans to sign a petition asking for Marvel to bring the show back. This reminds me of right before DC/HBO MAX announced the Justice League Snyder cut release, Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Jason Momoa all tweeted #ReleaseTheSnyderCut messages. Coincidence?
Please let it be true. I would love to see Daredevil return on Disney+.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
WandaVision and Spider-man 3 set up the Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness with the legendary Sam Raimi directing. I expect massive awesomeness.
and of course… Fantastic Four
Feige Announced a long-awaited Fantastic Four Reboot (Yaaaaa!)
Unfortunately, Josh Trank wasn’t available so Spider-Man: Far from Home & Homecoming director Jon Watts will have the honor.

Marvel has an amazing track record. Their worst films were OK. Their best have been amazing. I worry this many projects may water down the quality!!
